Rabbi Amy Scheinerman is a teacher, writer, and hospice chaplain. She travels widely as a scholar-in-residence, presenting to many congregations across the nation. Amy is a member of both the Board of Trustees of the Central Conference of American Rabbis and the CCAR Responsa Committee, and serves as editor of the Torah Commentary column of the CCAR newsletter. She maintains a Torah commentary blog at http://taste-of-torah.blogspot.com and together with Rabbi Louis Rieser, a Talmud blog at http://nuviewtalmud.blogspot.com. Amy received her BA from Brown University; has studied at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and Princeton Theological Seminary; and was ordained in 1984 at HUC-JIR in New York, where she also received a Doctor of Divinity in 2009. Amy has held pulpits in Conservative, Reform, and unaffiliated congregations. She lives in Columbia, Maryland.
