Rabbi Andrew Hahn, Ph.D. (NY2003), is known as both the Kirtan Rabbi and — depending upon which phone booth he exits — also as the Tai Chi Rabbi. He has pioneered Kirtan in the Jewish world, offering communal call-and-response chant concerts and meditation seminars around the world. Rabbi Hahn earned a Ph.D. from the Jewish Theological Seminary (Conservative) and holds ordination from Hebrew Union College (Reform), both in New York. He has been teaching tai chi and related arts for more than thirty-five years. In his workshops, he seamlessly combines chant, movement, meditation and text study into a positive, holistic experience. He is resident faculty at Clal: The National Jewish Center for Learning and Leadership in New York and served as Visiting Rabbi for Metivta: a center for contemplative Judaism in Los Angeles. Rabbi Hahn has three musical CDs available: Kirtan Rabbi: Live!, Achat Sha’alti, and the just released Kirtan Rabbi: Nondual.
