Rabbi Daniel Sherman has served as the spiritual leader of the Tree of Life Congregation in Columbia, South Carolina since July 2006. He was ordained at the Hebrew Union College – Jewish Institute of Religion in Cincinnati, OH in 1999. Before coming to Columbia, he served as Assistant and Associate Rabbi of Temple Shalom in Naples, FL for seven years.
Rabbi Sherman is a product of the Reform Movement, having grown up at Temple Israel of Tulsa, OK. He has also spent many summers at Union for Reform Judaism camps, as a camper, counselor, unit head, educator, and faculty member. He received his B.A. in History from Yale University in 1993. He is married to Morgan Sherman, and they are the proud parents of Shai (age 9) and Janna (6 1/2).
