Faye Shapiro is a licenced certified genetic counselor with The Victor Center for the Prevention of Jewish Genetic Diseases at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. In this role, Faye primarily privides community education about Jewish genetic diseases and the need for screening, coordinates genetic screening for young Jewish adults in the Philadelphia area, and provides follow-up counseling and support for those found to be carriers. Faye has been with The Victor Center for over 7 years and has helped over 2,000 inidividuals and couples get screened. When not working at Einstein, Faye is active in her synagogue, Congregation Beth El Voorhees, NJ, where she serves as Sisterhood President, reads Torah regularly, and tutors B’nai Mitzvah students. Faye lives in Cherry Hill, NJ with her husband, Dr. Gary Shapiro, and three children.
